The Robin Red Breast says Happy May Day!

Today while I was on a conference call, I stared out the window into my back garden and watched a Robin hunt for worms. The Robin belly puffed out before him, I am sure filled with many worms. I watched as he or she dug in the dirt, raising dust bits everywhere, in search of worms. I watched her success as she yanked and pulled up a mile long worm from the murky mud. While watching and listening to the business call I happened to look over at the calendar. It proclaimed MAY 1. Ah May Day at last, and how perfect that I celebrated by watching the Robin! At last, though the snow still prevails, I found I had hope for Spring! Kim Power Stilson

Susan Boyle lifted my heart when she sang!

In the middle of our snowed-in April day . . . kid’s home for spring break . . . all of us wishing to be somewhere warm . . . my father walks in and says, “Have you seen her? Have you heard her?” “Who?” we ask wondering what could make my British father so agitated in the middle of the day. “Why Susan Boyle . . . she is everywhere, you have to hear her sing!” My dad made my 15 year old daughter pull up YouTube and we unwillingly pulled ourselves from the couch where we had been rooted reading since lunch. (No tennis or park during this spring break day with the 6 inches of snow we have!) We watched as Susan Boyle came on stage doubtfully and then as she introduced herself and sang we were reduced to actual shock then tears. She sang my favorite song from Les Miserables and even my kids were speechless. For any of us who have ever dreamed a dreamed, hoped for something better . . . she proved it beautifully as we watched her sing today . . . and something beautiful was reborn in me . . . we, the world, need more people, more hopeful stories like Susan Boyle. This day no longer seems cold! All things are possible, “my life {will}be so different from this hell I’m living” Yay for dreams! Kim Power Stilson

Great article on Small Business Social Media Marketing

Here is a great article for small business owners who have questions about Social Media Marketing! I love that my Small Business Marketing Surival Series provides a solution! A less expensive and more complete solution at that! http://ping.fm/hgopZ

Good news for Power Strategies! Locally-owned, Spherion and Power Strategies, Inc., have partnered to offer a Small Business Marketing Survival Series to businesses who need a reknewed and updated focus on marketing to build sales volume.

Spherion, a staffing and recruiting solutions company, has experienced the results of economic downturn like many businesses. Ron Zarbock, the owner of the Wasatch front franchise, suggests that creating sales that get people back to work is the obvious path to success. The key to that success is finding new, effective and inexpensive ways to market and promote what businesses are selling. Ron wanted to help his business and the businesses he services succeed.

“I knew I needed to really get online, engage in social media marketing and learn about Internet and Web promotions. The Small Business Marketing Survival Series 5-part, 7 volume series covers everything thing I know about strategically marketing and promoting my staffing services,” said Zarbock. “I found the Small Business Marketing Survival Series to fit every need as a manger of several small businesses and a non-profit organization,”

The Small Business Marketing Survival Series, caters directly to business owners, unlike more expensive and technical offerings available. The Survival Series features the award-winning “24 Hours to Zero Down Marketing” 24 hour step by step small business marketing strategy builder and workbook and offers four more guides which cover Internet, Web and Online social communications information, advice and suggestions to apply to their business. It comes with 7 physical guides, and online video and audio trainings. Hiring someone like the author, Kim Power Stilson, (named “Social Media Marketer of the Year 2008”, by an online education company) to come in to do this personally for your company would cost $15,000, she offers her Small Business Marketing Survival Series for $599, with an additional discount for business organizations like the Provo Orem and Salt Lake City Chambers.

“More than ever before in the history of the world this is the time for small businesses to grow, flourish and become the big businesses of the future. Online marketing & advertising has leveled the playing field,” said Kim Power Stilson. “Why let the big-budget companies take the advantage when all you need to sell, market, connect and compete online is now available for just a few hours of your time and a few dollars from your budget. While others may be looking down, take this opportunity reach up and grab the stars!”

10 foot icicle collides with my office window!

Today, after 2 weeks of 3 feet of unmeltable snow, the world warmed up just enough to melt a 10 foot icicle! The icicle could have chosen any direction out into the garden, down onto the ground, but it choose to slame into my office window, rip the screen and scare the _____ out of me and the giant dogs at my feet. After I started breathing again I realized how dangerous 10 foot icicles can be and then I started hoping for spring. Looking on the positive side, melting, thawing . . .means spring is coming. Then I looked at my calendar and realized winter has really not started to end, it has just started to feel really cold, icy and well white. That for me is usually a good thing with skiing and winter snow shoeing — but today with a torn up knee and crutches it felt a little bit like a white icy jail. That could at a moment’s notice send its daggers into your office window! Ah well! What can you do?
